Location: Kavik Ridge, a remote, resource-rich mountain range in the Pacific Northwest.
Environment: Dense alpine forests, steep cliffs, underground tunnels, and several abandoned mining facilities.
Background
Following the global collapse of traditional energy markets, rare earth elements (REEs) and freshwater rights have become the world's most fiercely contested commodities. As governments falter and borders blur, Kavik Ridge-once forgotten-has become a flashpoint.
Two corporate titans-Helix Industries and Onyx Strategic Solutions-wage a covert shadow war in the mountains, but their clash has awakened an older, quieter force hidden beneath the surface.
Helix Industries
A biotech and advanced energy megacorporation that discovered a powerful geothermal vein beneath Kavik Ridge. Claiming legal rights via pre-collapse land surveys, Helix established an advanced but secretive research facility.
Code Name: Task Force Aegis
Objective: Extract data, protect geothermal drill sites, eliminate hostiles.
Uniform: Tan kits based, clean, modernize gear.
Onyx Strategic Solutions
A heavily militarized private contractor funded by international stakeholders. Onyx has deployed forces to seize control of the ridge's REEs and freshwater resources by any means necessary-covert or otherwise.
Code Name: Unit Fenrir
Objective: Disrupt Helix operations, seize facility schematics, control water and comms towers.
Uniform: Green / Black Uniforms, favoured amongst the European contractors, rugged loadouts.
The Ember Consortium (New Faction)
Rising from the ashes of abandoned mining guilds, disenfranchised locals, and rogue scientists, The Ember Consortium is a secretive and decentralized network seeking to reclaim Kavik Ridge from corporate exploitation. Unacknowledged by the global community and feared by both Helix and Onyx, Ember believes that no one should own the land-or the power beneath it.
Operating deep underground through collapsed mines and forgotten tunnels, they are masters of sabotage, misinformation, and ambush tactics. Ember does not seek profit, but total disruption of the corporate war machine. Their methods are unpredictable, and their ideology makes them dangerously committed.
Code Name: Ember Wraiths
Objective: Sabotage Helix and Onyx operations, erase infrastructure, expose war crimes, reclaim the ridge for the land itself.
Uniform: Mixed kits with scavenged gear, like true Guerilla's.
Tension
With Helix drilling deep, Onyx tightening its grip on logistics corridors, and Ember Consortium striking from the shadows, Kavik Ridge has become a three-way battleground of ideology, power, and survival.
